The servants of the mausoleum collected the carpets covering the shrine’s floors to wash them.
They also dusted and cleaned the walls and the Zarih (outer sarcophagus enclosure of the holy shrine) before covering the floors with the washed and dried carpets.
The cleaning operation lasted for three hours, according to Sheikh Hamed, one of the servants.
The holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) is close to the mausoleum of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam.
