AL-QUDS (IQNA) – A farmer was killed and several others were injured by Israeli soldiers in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday morning, in a clear violation of the four-day truce that started on Friday between Hamas and the occupation regime.

Israeli violation of truce with Hamas

The Israeli soldiers shot the farmers while they were working on their land east of the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Palestine’s Wafa News Agency reported.

This was not the only breach of the truce by the Israeli forces, who also opened fire on civilians near the Al Quds and Indonesian hospitals in northern Gaza, injuring seven people.

The civilians were trying to inspect their homes after the Israeli attacks that destroyed thousands of buildings in the besieged territory.

The humanitarian pause, which was brokered by Qatar and Egypt, came into effect on Friday at 7 a.m. local time, after 48 days of relentless Israeli aggression that killed at least 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and over 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the Gaza Strip.

The truce stipulates that both sides (Israel and Hamas) would continue to release prisoners they are holding captive and that vital relief supplies and fuel would be allowed into Gaza.

Meanwhile, extremist settlers stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on Sunday, with the protection of Israeli soldiers who prevented Palestinians from performing prayers in the holy site. The Al Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam and a symbol of the Palestinian cause.
