Iranian Qari’s Recitations Warmly Received at Bangladesh Quranic Event

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 16th international Quran recitation congress of Bangladesh was held in different cities of the South Asian country earlier this month.

Prominent Quran reciters from different countries took part in the program, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.

They included Sheikh Ahmed Ahemd Noaina and Sheikh Mohamed al-Mariji from Egypt, Hamid Reza Ahmadi Wafa from Iran, Sheikh Riyadh al-Jazayeri from Algeria and Kuchar Omar Ali from Iraq’s Kurdistan semi-autonomous region.

The 12-day program saw Quranic sessions held in 8 major Bangladeshi cities such as Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna.

They were organized by the International Quran Recitation Association of Bangladesh, known as ‘Iqra’.

Government officials, religious and scholarly figures, academic personalities, Quranic figures and a large number of ordinary people attended the Quranic program.

The Iranian Qari’s recitations in the program, especially the one at the Baitul Mukarram Mosque, were received very warmly by the audience.

The International Quran Recitation Association of Bangladesh in a letter to the Iranian Cultural Center in Dhaka thanked the Islamic Republic, especially the cultural center for its contribution to the program.
