“Quranic Terms” Dictionary to Be Published in Morocco

A historical dictionary of “Quranic Terms” will be published in Morocco by the country’s Institute of Scientific Research Studies.

 According to Islamweb website, the Center for Morphological Studies in Fez city of Morocco will cooperate with the institute in implementing the project.

Sheikh Shahid Muhammad Al-Busheikhi, former director of the center and secretary general of the institute who is an expert in the field of morphology, particularly morphology of Quranic terms, will supervise the project.
Introducing the efforts made by Muslim scholars to explain  the meaning of Quranic terms, clarifying individual and group activities in this field from the date of the revelation of the Holy Quran till today, introducing the process by which Quranic terms have been comprehended in different periods of history and paving the way for conducting research studies about Quranic terms are some of the objectives of the project.
Various sources on Quran interpretation and Quranic sciences, Hadith studies and Hadith sciences, as well as religious-jurisprudential works, glossaries and dictionaries of general terms will be used in compilation of the dictionary.
It will be completed in three steps including “data collection and documentation”, “revision and evaluation” and “synchronization”.
In a booklet, Sheikh Shahid Muhammad Al-Busheikhi, the secretary general of the institute, has provided some information about the project and the dictionary.
