According to Khama Press, the operation was conducted in Char Asiab District district, approximately 11 km south of the capital city of Kabul, in the southern part of Kabul province.
It came less than a week after Taliban officials sat face-to-face with Afghan leaders as well as US negotiators in Qatar in a bid to end the 18-year war in Afghanistan.
Daesh’s presence in Afghanistan has been on the rise in Afghanistan after the collapse of the group’s so-called caliphate.
Daesh has been militarily defeated in Syria and Iraq, the two Arab countries where the terrorist group overtook pieces of land starting in 2014. But the group has not been disbanded altogether.
