Ebrahimi Torkaman Remains ICRO Chief

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman was reappointed for a third term as the Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).

 

According to ICRO’s website, after receiving Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s authorization, he was reappointed as the organization’s chairman.  

Ebrahimi Torkaman first took helm of ICRO in 2013.

Prior to that, he served as Iran’s cultural attaché in Russia for six years. He has also been the country’s cultural envoy to Turkey and Turkmenistan.

The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, affiliated to to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, is Iran’s primary organization for implementing and leading cultural outreach outside of Iran

The purpose of the ICRO is promoting cultural ties with other nations and communities, consolidation of cultural ties of Iran with other nations, offering proper presentation of the Iranian culture and civilization, preparing the grounds for unity among Muslims, revival and promotion of Islamic culture and teachings in the world, and information dissemination about the principles and realities of the Islamic Revolution.
