TEHRAN (IQNA) –  The last batch of contenders in the final stage of Saudi Arabia’s 41st international Quran competition went on the stage to showcase their Quranic talents and win top prizes on Monday night.

A total of 27 contestants did their performance on the last day of the contest, al-Akhbar al-Yawm news website reported.

The final stage had kicked off in the holy city of Mecca on Saturday, September 7.

The awarding ceremony will be held at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) on Wednesday evening.

The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance had held the preliminary stage of the competition with 146 participants from 103 countries in late August.

Top participants were selected to compete in the three-day final stage.

More than 6300 Quran reciters and memorizers have participated in the competition since the first edition of the international Quranic event in 1399 AH.
