Quran Memorizers to Become Prayer Leaders in Jordan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Jordan’s Awqaf minister said some of the country’s Quran memorizers will be appointed imams (prayer leaders).
Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal said there is a lack of prayer leaders in Jordan’s mosques, Petra news agency reported.
He said those who have memorized the entire Quran or at least 15 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book, could serve as prayer leaders in mosques.
He made the remarks in a ceremony held in Amman for graduation of memorizers in a Quran center for girls.
Abul Bassal added that Quran centers in the country promote the teachings of the Quran in addition to helping students memorize the Quranic verses.
