Iran to Attend Int'l Interfaith Conference in Austria

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian cultural representative will participate at an international conference titled “From Interfaith and Inter-Civilizational Cooperation to Human Solidarity” in Vienna, Austria.

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, ICRO’s chief, has been invited by Sheikh-ul-Islam Allah Shukur Pashazadeh, chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office and General Secretary of Baku International Centre for Interfaith and Inter-Civilizational Cooperation, to attend the conference.

Having successfully held international conferences in Germany and Spain in 2018, the center plans to organize this year’s international conference in Vienna on June 19 in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Austrian government.

The Hofburg Palace in the Austrian capital will host the event.

It will be attended by religious leaders from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East as well as social and political figures.

The opening ceremony of the conference will be addressed by Idris Jazayeri, secretary of the conference and executive director of the Geneva Center for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue.

A message from Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, will be read out at the program by I’tibar Nujuf, head of the Center for Inter-Cultural Relations and Religious Affairs of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Office.

Pashazadeh, Faisal bin Muammar, secretary general of the International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and Johannes Peterlik, secretary general of Austria’s Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, will be among the speakers at the conference.
