TEHRAN (IQNA) –  Iran’s State Welfare Organization announced the conditions required for those willing to take part in the 4th edition of the International Quran Competition for the Visually-Impaired.

The organization said applicants have up to January 21, 2019, to do the initial registration for attending the contest.

The competition will be held in the spring of 2019, it said.

Enhancing unity and solidarity among the visually-impaired in the Muslim world, providing a venue for cultural and scientific exchanges among them, promotion of the Quranic culture and teachings, and encouraging the visually-impaired to learn the Quran and attend Quranic activities are among the objectives of the event.

According to the organization, applicants should be between 18 to 45 years of age. The competition is held for men in the categories of memorization and recitation of the Quran and each contender can compete in only one category.

Applicants must be the nationals of the country they want to represent. Winners of the top three ranks in the previous editions cannot take part in the contest again.

The 3rd International Quran Competition for the Visually-Impaired was held in the Iranian capital in April along with several other international Quranic events, including the 35th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition.
