Iranian Qari, Quran Memorizer to Leave for Kuwait on April 10

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Republic of Iran’s representatives in this year’s edition of the Kuwait international Quran contest will leave for Kuwait City on April 10.

 

Mohammad Javad Delfani and Mehdi Gholamnejad will compete in the memorization and recitation categories of the contest respectively.

They were selected to represent Iran in the international Quranic event after winning top ranks in the national Quran contest held in the northwestern city of Urumia back in October 2017.

The 9th edition of the international Quran competition in Kuwait will get underway on April 10.

The contest, known as the Kuwait Quran Prize, is annually held under the patronage of the ruler of the Arab country.

In the 2017 edition, it saw the participation of 123 contestants from 69 countries.
