According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, the annual program is organized in cooperation with the Astans of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrines and Al-Kawthar Islamic University of Pakistan.
Muslim Abbas Sakban, head of the organizing committee of the festival, said that the flags from the two holy shrines as well as 14 flags symbolizing the 14 infallible (AS) will be raised at the opening ceremony of the festival .
The flag of Imam Hussein (AS) will also be put on display in an exhibition on the sidelines of the festival, he added.
Other sideline programs of the festival will include a book fair, media and photo exhibitions and congregational prayers.
A delegation from the Astan of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine plan to visit a number of Pakistani universities, hospitals and institutes as a part of the program.
The 4th edition of the festival was held in Islamabad in May 2017.
