Commander Hails End of Daesh
In a message to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, General Soleimani described the emergence of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group as a dangerous Fitna (sedition) created by the enemies of Islam, the Zionists and the world arrogance, with the aim of fomenting discord in the Islamic Ummah and pitting Muslims against one another.
The senior commander added that thanks to the judicious leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei and Iraqi top cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, steadfastness of the government’s, armies and nations of Iraq and Syria, and defining role of Hezbollah resistance movement, the perilous Fitna was quashed.
He also appreciated the support of the Iranian nation, president, parliament and other organizations for their support for the fight against terrorism.
General Soleimani further congratulated the Leader, the Iranian people, the nations of Iraq and Syria and other Muslims in the world on the great victory over Daesh and the end of the terror group’s dominance over some Muslim lands with the liberation of the Syrian city of al-Bukamal, the last Daesh stronghold in the Arab country that ended Daesh’s self-proclaimed state.
