TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the Syed Junaid Alam International Quran Award will start in Bahrain on Saturday.

According to alwatannews.net website, representatives of 54 countries will take part in the competition.

It will be the 15th edition of the international Quranic event.

The contest is annually organized by the Society for Serving the Holy Quran, which is based in Manama.

Abdul-Ghani Al-Omari, head of the organizing committee, said al-Fateh Islamic Center in Manama will host the competition starting from November 18.

He said it will run until Wednesday, November 22, with the closing ceremony slated to be held after Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Six Quran experts from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Algeria and Chad will form the panel of judges, Omari added.

He noted that prominent Egyptian Qari Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Noiana will be the event’s guest of honor.
