TEHRAN (IQNA) – Madrid will be one of many cities across the world in which rallies will be held to mark the International Quds (Jerusalem) Day.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Iranian Cultural Center in Spain, the Ahl-u-Bayt (AS) Society, and the Muslims Institute for Peace will participate in the Madrid rally this Friday.

Speakers at the event will call for enhanced unity among Muslims and more support for the Palestinian nation in the face of the Zionist regime’s crimes.

Muslims and others worldwide will hold demonstrations on May 31 to reiterate their call for the liberation of Palestine from Israeli occupation and to denounce Israel’s atrocities.

The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
