According to al-Siyasiyah daily, Farid Imadi, head of the organizing committee, made the announcement in a press conference in Kuwait City on Tuesday.
He said the 10th edition of the competition is slated to be held in April.
Imadi noted that the cash prizes planned to be awarded to winners in this year’s contest will amount to 167,000 Kuwait dinars.
In 2018, 130 Quran reciters and memorizers from 79 countries attended the 9th Kuwait international Quran contest.
Iran was represented in the event by Mohammad Javad Delfani in memorization of the entire Quran and Mehdi Gholamnejad in recitation.
