According to Libya’s official news agency, the country’s General Office of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is holding the course for the Quran teachers in the eastern part of the country.
It is being supervised by Sheikh Abdulsattar Abidi, director of the office for Quranic Affairs and Nabawi Sunnah affiliated to the Libyan Government’s General Office of Awqaf and Sharif Mashiti, director of the media section of the office.
The office plans to hold more such courses for Quran teachers in other parts of the country.
Libya is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad and Niger to the south and Algeria and Tunisia to the west.
About 97 percent of the population in Libya are Muslims.
